comment: I believe that the accusations brought forward are: 1- Unfounded, cause his song does not attack nor ridicules any of the religions, including Islam.
2- It is only a way for some people to ruin the freedom of speech in Lebanon, which is something that Lebanese people from all religions have fought for, for ages.
3- Lebanese people of all religions and beliefs should stand as one in this critical situation; we should voice our dismay of the situation, and we should assert our freedom of speech, arts, the media and religion.
Finally Lebanon has always been the burning light of freedom, it is time now to shine brilliantly , and help our Phoenix to finally rise and fight the Darkness.
TO LIVE FREE OR TO DIE. God bless Freedom, God bless Lebanon.

comment: The mere idea of charging an artist of the rank and volume of Marcel Khalife's for a song, reflects but the degree of crisis that the Arab status has reached... in particular, that it is happening in Beirut, the supposedly intellectual capital of the Arab World !! I feel outraged about Khalife's trial, and I consider it as my personal trial ... it is also the trial of every single one of you ... of every free human in the world, and most of all, it is a trial of the Arab conscience itself.

comment: Again, this is to show us that people who speak a word of wisdom, who create a conflict for those who mean to control, abuse and condemn our freedom of expressing ourselves as a nation, as people...there's a bigger game behind this..they're making him pay for singing songs for a palestinian poet...for singing songs that speak freedom..and for singing songs that call for equality...it's time for us to wake up..and those who are traitors and are used to serve others' purposes should be imprisoned...where is justice and where is freedom!!!

comment: Singing is an art form and singer should be allowed to sing, even if a song might offend some people, although it wasn't intended to. People take things too personal, they should be able to look at things from someone else's point of view. What's going on with Marcel Khalife is a very good example of censorship. People have the right to speak, or sing, anything they want unless it is actually harmful to other.

comment: IN THE NAME OF ALLAH....,
Marcel Khalife is a man of great talent. Khalife's work in music has inspired not only the Arabic world , but also the narrow path's of many country's throughout the world. Khalife has been gifted with the magical way of attracting people's hearts thru music.
(IN REFERENCE TO THE SONG.."ANA YOUSEF YA ABI").., First, i'd like to say that Khalife has many muslim listeners. Islam, like Khalife, has been fighting for the peoples dignity, honer, pride and equality through the miserable and hatred colonization the arabic world is living through. Khalife's music is spoken on behalf of the millions that follow him. Amongst those millions ,their religious beliefs vary. It is sad to see why such a talented individual would say such phrases in a song titled "Ana Yousef Ya Abi". The Quran is the only instrument in life that will lead us to the right path. When it is read, it is what Allah is advising us to do. It would have been preferrable if such a message would be said without music. I ask ALLAH to forgive the poet..the artist..and the many listeners who cheer for such a song. ALLAH is one and ALLAH's message is one.. it will never change :)

comment: As a citizen of the United States and a musician who has played many types of popular American music from folk to jazz I under stand the special role that music plays in times of struggle. Songs allow people to communicate ideas which would otherwise be stifled. They also serve to bring people together in a peaceful fashion. I have had the pleasure to hear and see M K work his magic. I saw how he was able to galvanize the whole auditorium, and I know he is beloved by Arab people throughout the world. Iêve also heard of Palestinian people who have been persecuted for having recordings of nationalistic music. It is with the utmost respect for the people of Islam and the government Lebanon that I ask that you let this artist do his craft.
